
Robin Conrad Sturm began her ballet training at the Washington School of the Ballet and is a graduate of the Academy of the Washington School of the Ballet. She was a principal dancer with the Washington Ballet, of which she was a founding member. As a principal dancer with the Washington Ballet, Ms. Sturm originated many lead roles and performed principal roles in the company’s repertoire. She also appeared as a soloist dancer with her late husband, Robert, in Jerome Hines’s opera, “I Am the Way,” at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
Ms. Sturm’s experience in the world of ballet as a dancer and teacher and working with children for the majority of her adult life as well as working for several years in a preschool is what inspired her writing of her children’s books. Her writing ranges from her children’s books to non-fiction books that bring hope and encouragement to adults as well as children. She also writes a blog on dancergracenotes.blog.
Ms. Sturm is a recipient of Prince William Living’s Most Influential Women Award of 2020. She has also received Insidenova’s Best of Prince William Award as Best Author of 2018
In addition to her writing, Ms. Sturm is now a certified Children’s Life Coach and lives in Manassas, Virginia. She has three grown children, Jeremy, Rebekah, and Samantha.
